Education: Lic. Carmen Vicente Serrano earned her LL.B. from Universidad Santa María La Antigua (USMA) in 1994 and was admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Justice (No. 3214) in 1995. In 1995 she obtained an LL.M. in the Legal Aspects of Marine Affairs from Cardiff University, United Kingdom. In 2000 she earned an MBA from Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología (ULACIT), Panama City.
Experience: Lic. Vicente has 30 years of professional practice, primarily in commercial transactions, investments, and wealth planning. She has served as a professor of “Legal Environment of Business” at the University of Louisville (Panama) and taught “International Conventions in Maritime Law” in the Maritime Law LL.M. programs at USMA (Panama) and in the joint Maritime and Port Management Master’s program offered by USMA and the University of Deusto, Spain.
Practice areas: General commercial law including negotiation, contracts, corporate and foundation law, family and business estate planning, investments, real estate, Maritime Law, Immigration Law, Labor Law, and procedures before government entities.
Lic. Vicente is a Certified Public Translator (License No. TP-172 issued May 15, 2000, English–Spanish and vice versa) and an Official Examiner recognized by the Ministry of Education for Certified Public Translators (English–Spanish and vice versa).
