  • Thorough title search and review of the property’s background at the Public Registry.
  • Verification of the validity and legality of permits and authorizations issued by the different government entities related to the property to be sold or acquired.
  • Review or drafting of all contracts related to the sale and purchase in order to include clauses that properly protect the client’s interests (seller or buyer, as the case may be).
  • Drafting the public deed and registering the title of ownership in favor of the client in the Public Registry Office of Panama.
  • Preparing other legal documents required by the bank or financial institution and reviewing or drafting the loan and mortgage agreement when the purchase is financed (in which case, we can also assist you with mortgage approval and processing through our network of contacts with local banks).
  • Tax review, payment of all taxes required to transfer the property, and obtaining tax payment certificates and other clearances, as required, to complete the sale.
  • Processing improvement tax exemptions in accordance with Panamanian law.
